Level One Bank, Oakland County Economic Development Corporation, and Detroit Regional Chamber Join to Support Small Business
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.: Local business and community leaders gathered on September 12 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham to provide strategies for small businesses to gain access to capital through a variety of government and bank lending programs that are typically underutilized. Level One Bank presented the event, Access to Capital, in partnership with the Oakland County Economic Development Corporation and the Detroit Regional Chamber.
More than 120 attendees represented nearly 60 local businesses, primarily consisting of strategic business partners such as attorneys, CPAs, and consultants. Access to Capital provided information and insight to help leaders and entrepreneurs discover various avenues for funding and growing local businesses.
“Five years ago, Level One had zero customers and zero assets, but we had a vision,” said President and CEO of Level One Bank, Patrick J. Fehring.
Level One now operates with a team of 130 bankers, seven banking centers, and almost $500 million in assets.
“Since our inception, we’ve been an advocate for small businesses in Michigan, helping provide capital for this state’s entrepreneurs,” said Fehring. “As a business that started from nothing, we understand the resources needed to expand and thrive. Being in a position to help other businesses has always been one of our goals, and we’re looking forward to continuing to invest in Michigan.”
Joining Fehring was Oakland County Deputy Executive Matthew Gibb and Detroit Regional Chamber Vice President of Economic Development Maureen Krauss, who shared their insights on local business and economic development in Michigan.
