Android Pay FAQs

What is Android Pay?

Android Pay provides owners of Android devices the ability to use their Android phone to make in store or in-app payments using an eligible Level One Bank Visa debit card. Our personal and business debit cards are all compatible.

How to get the app

Search for the app on your phone. Android Pay is preloaded on many Android devices. If you don’t see it on your phone, you can download it from the Google Play Store. Android Pay works with devices that are OS 4.4 (or “Kit Kat”) and above, including Nexus 5 and above, Samsung Galaxy S6 and later, HTC One M8 and later and LG G2 and above.

How to add your Level One Bank debit card

To add your Level One Bank Visa debit card to Android Pay, open the app and touch the + sign. Position your Level One Bank card in the camera frame and take a picture. You will then be asked to enter the security code found on the back of your card and provide additional information as required. After Android Pay accepts your card, you will be asked to accept the Terms of Service. That’s it! If you’ve already added other cards to Android Pay, you can set your Level One Bank card as your default by clicking the card within the Android Pay app or by going to your Google Settings.

How to make a payment

Your debit card can be used at a variety of merchants, in stores and online. For a list of stores where Android Pay is accepted, click here: www.android.com/pay/where-to-use/

In-store payment:

  • If your Level One Bank card is set as your default card, simply unlock your mobile device and hold the back of it against the payment terminal.
  • If your Level One Bank card is not set as your default card, you need to open the Android Pay app and tap your Level One Bank card before holding the back of your device against the payment terminal.
  • If prompted, choose "Credit" regardless of your type of card. For debit card transactions, you may have to enter a PIN. Use the PIN you set up with Level One Bank.

Online and in-app purchases:

  • When shopping online or within an app, choose Android Pay at time of checkout. No need to enter your card information.

Where can I use it?

Android Pay can be used at a variety of merchants, in stores and online. Look for either of these symbols at check-out:

Is it a secure way to pay?

Your security is a top priority for Level One Bank. Visa and Android Pay help protect every transaction against fraud. When you make a payment using Android Pay and your Level One Bank card, Visa replaces your card details with a unique virtual account number. That way, your sensitive information stays private. Your account number is never shared with the merchant and is not even stored on your mobile device.

Level One Bank is not affiliated with Android. Android Pay is a trademark of Google Inc.
