LEVEL ONE BANK SELECTED BY UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
FOR MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACTION PROJECT (MAP)
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., - Level One Bank was selected by the University of Michigan Ross School of Business Global MBA students for participation in the school’s Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP). Throughout the seven week project, students from across the world devoted themselves to on-site learning and a demographic analysis of Level One Bank’s retail division.
Level One Bank’s MAP team included six students from Korea, Taiwan and Japan, each bringing various educational and career backgrounds, including finance, marketing and law. Together, the students completed a demographic study of the areas surrounding Level One’s seven banking centers and provided marketing recommendations based on their findings. The project plan included consultation with Level One Bank staff and U of M faculty, banking center visits, demographic research, and benchmark studies.
“It has been quite rewarding to work with such a talented group of MBA students who share our acumen for business and passion for research,” said David Walker, Level One Bank CFO and University of Michigan alum. “We were especially pleased to be chosen by these students in our first year of applying to host the MAP program. It has been a wonderful experience for all involved.”
The MAP course is a requirement of the MBA core curriculum, involving four to six Global MBA students from the Ross School of Business. Each year, MAP proposals are accepted from sponsors looking to solve a problem, identify new processes or target opportunities for growth.
Global MBA students from the Ross School of Business selected eight out of 25 corporate, entrepreneurial, and nonprofit project proposals submitted. Since 1992, Ross MAP teams have completed nearly 1,600 projects for more than 800 organizations.
